March Blog (Click to Read)

Our March Blogger is our very own Melissa Goode!

Born and raised in Texas, Melissa lived there until moving to Louisville in 2014. She has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M and practiced as a small animal veterinarian until retiring in October 2020.

Horses have always been a passion as well as horse racing.  She loves studying Thoroughbred bloodlines.  Living in Kentucky was a dream come true and she has attended many Kentucky Derbies and both Breeder's Cups. She is a volunteer for Moneighs for ReRun, which is an organization that raises money to re-home retired Thoroughbred racehorses by selling paintings done by famous Thoroughbreds. This has been a labor of love as Melissa has been able to be next to many of the beloved horses she watched race.

Melissa is using her retirement to become locally involved and is a Precinct Committee Chair for the Oldham County GOP, an election poll worker, and a member of the Liberty Ladies Republican Club. She is married and has four grown sons.  She loves God and is a member of Southeast Christian Church Prospect.
